The problem with Role Matchup is the fact that these roles are no longer important to the Blackbeard Pirates because they’re all captains now.

And even before that none of these roles seemed at all important and were just random info oda added cause people were asking.

And Strawhat matchups were never based on these kinds of roles in the first place.

Acknowledge that Coby’s decent strength-wise atm but I’m not at all convinced that he fights Aokiji. He’s simply not strong enough & writing him as such will be abysmal writing on Oda’s part imo so can only hope that isn’t the case. With Smoker however it’s feasible. Like most antagonists that get re-introduced into the series he will most likely be getting a major power boost & he’s already a VA so next level of progression for him is Admiral.

Cobys not ready for that. He barely was able to handle one honesty impact and that only hurt Pizarros forearm.

On the bolded bit, I doubt it but we'll see whenever we see Smoker next. As it was with the likes of Croc and even Lucci, logic dictates that Smoker will be much stronger the next time we seem him.

Also on the protege angle, coz it fits doesn't mean it makes sense imo.
Coby fighting an opponent comparable to Luffy's in the same arc makes no sense whatsoever imo regardless of whatever it is that Coby is going to be EoS but we can disagree on this.

Currently Stronger than smoker is a huge doubt. Coby had one strong attack but that’s it. And we’ll see when oda brings smoker back into the manga.

Again the protege angle doesn’t matter too much to me, because Coby and kuzan didn’t show any interest in one another.
