So far every CoC Coating Swordsmen have been around the Blade and not on the Blade..

lf Mihawk has AdCoC he would not use it in the manner that Shanks is around the blade as that would be a loss at his
Swordsmanship Skills.. The devotion to Swordsmanship is a whole different level.. CoC Coating won't be used
in a WSS title match that's why Black Blade exist.. The only logical conclusion is that CoC infusion is needed to create
a Black Blade..

When Zoro used CoA for the first time he skipped base CoA and went straight to Ryou imbuing Haki on Wado..

lt's the same for Grandmaster Swordsmen they skip CoC Coating Around the Blade and go directly to CoC Blade infusion..
Resulting in permanent Black Blades..

Participating in marineford was complete character assassination for mihawk. Had his slash no sold by WB commanders, couldn't put luffy down after saying he wouldnt hold back, couldn't get past vista, was completely walled by buggys ability.

Oda should have never let him be there. It stained the WSS title for many in the fandom.
