Character Discussion Tama is a completely pointless filler plot device character

#1
Oda hyped up the grifters since Punk Hazard and introduced a single character to serve as the main plot device to counter these fodders. And yet Kaido and Luffy still have not used their conquerors Haki in order to eliminate all the fodders which makes the whole Tama plot line pointless since conqueror Haki has already been established as fodder control. Oda prefers to drag out arcs than actually providing quality story telling.

A bit like Sugar for Doffy but reversed, Oda needed that convoluted power to create drama and plot but he didn't want her to actually interfere with Luffy and friends so she was taken out conveniently by Usopp when needed. Tama's difference is that Oda needs her to change the current hopeless (not counting plot power) situation and so, opposite to Sugar, she now has MC lvl plot power (plot device who is also a cute child).

Hope that she has something more about her character than just being the plot device to beat the gifters.

I like the theory that she is Orochi daughter, and that he feed her the Tama fruit as secret weapon against Kaido.

There's the idea that Tenguyama is Sukiyaki, as they have the same voice actor and the Kokeshi dolls thing, and he discovered Tama power and how usefull they would be against the Beast Pirates, and take her from Orochi, or even make a deal with the Shogun, where he hide Tama for Orochi while Orochi let him live.

Don know what possibility is the true, but for sure he was hiding Tama as a secret weapon against Beast Pirates, when Tama disapered in the start of the Arc he freaked out, while now she go to fucking Onigashima in the middle of the War and he dont seems to care and go see the festival with Otoko.

Luffy effortlessly taking out 50,000 fishmen was a hype moment but in retrospect Oda really wrote himself into a corner without realizing it. All the non-SMILE users should be out of the equation at this point if consistency existed.

Not really, neutralizing the Gifter menace is actually a necessary plot point!Gifters were giving trouble to even Luffy,Zoro,Kidd and Killer!Gifter army is the best fodder force in the OP verse!Gifters gave trouble to the Minks,Samurai,Supernovas and Straw hats! They are legit dangerous!I would put the Gifters at 100 million berry bounty level!

Luffy needed to save his haki do fight Kaido!Haki is a limited resource! If Luffy had taken out all the fodders with some COC blasts he would have no COC left to fight Kaido!Even Rayleigh in Sabaody said the couldn't use coc too many times in a day!

Main difference with Sugar and what made her a good antagonist is how few panels Oda spent on her, you have over 100 panels on tama who has been by far the most pointless plot deviced character in OP

Youre not really pointless if youre a plot device are you?
