Still it's more like the sun vs darkness, that's what Blackbeard said himself when he fought Ace, who will win, the sun or the darkness, when in actuality Nika represents the sun, he is the sun god, and Luffy has Nika's powers, so Blackbeard's darkness will be defeated by the sun's powers, by Luffy, even though for now he thinks he has the answer to that question,

It's the opposite for me, I feel if Oda wanted him to be out of the story he'd have had him get disposed by the elders after a shoehorned betrayal.

Nah, just quit the marines like that, after all that he did, would not be good. Akainu is his brother but eventually one or more gorosei could ask him about what he did at Egghead, he could even be called by Im. Most likely Oda will keep him in the naftaline at least for an arc or 2 now, afterall the last time Kizaru did something before Egghead it was Marineford.
