My concern is that Kizaru is now disposable and Oda might do something stupid to get him out of the way.

I wont he surprised if he becomes a hypetool to Blackbeard. Even the dumbest author wont let the chance of a darkness vs light battle.

Kizaru is in a sad mental state at the moment. And he is overconfident, we already saw that when he was prepared to go against Kaido & Big Mom before being held back by Akainu. This time around he might go after Blackbeard without Akainu being there to hold him back because Kizaru is mentally unstable at the moment and might decide on his own without telling anyone or having anyone holding him back.
