It's been a long time since Kaidou and Big Mom did a legendary joint attack, the public's reaction? They were driven mad by the phenomenal power of both emperors.

Kaido and Big Mom unleash a massive combined attack called "Hakai" (破壊 ). This attack is clearly a parallel to the one used by Dorry and Brogy at the end of the Little Garden arc, which can be seen from their poses and sound effects. It is a powerful enough attack to open a hole in a massive Sea King.

The parallel becomes even more evident if we remember that Dorry and Brogy's attack was called "Hakoku," with the name "Hakai" being used here making a direct reference to the use of the kanji. We saw Big Mom use her own variant of "Hakoku" on the Whole Cake Island, she called it "Ikoku," so she is used to using these types of attacks from Elbaf. "Hakoku" can be translated as "Country of Warriors" (alternatively also as lords, sovereigns, etc.), while "Ikoku" can be translated to "Country of the Powerful." However, in the case of "Hakai," the "koku" part (which indicates country) is replaced by the sea kanji, turning the word into "Sea of Warriors." The reference here is that the "warriors" part is referring to King's Haki, at least in this scene, since it uses the same kanji (Hakai - Sea of Warriors. Haoshoku - Haki of the King. As well as in the word "Haki" itself, which can be translated literally as "conqueror's ki," or more simply: ambition, determination), with the sea part in "Hakai" referring to the influence of the Four Emperors on the world's seas.

But the reference does not stop here! There is an even deeper layer in the wordplay here, as expected from Oda. It is possible to read the kanji of "Hakoku" in the same way as "Nation of Warriors," but it has its own meaning of "domination." Similarly, by reading "Hakai," it is possible to notice the kanji "Nation of Warriors," but it can also refer to the absolute force of "destruction." BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! It's an even smarter wordplay with the words, this combined attack, in and of itself, is the combination of Big Mom and Kaido's names, with the "Ha" being half of "Haha," the Japanese translation of "Mom," and the "Kai" being half of "Kaido," making this attack a combination of their names.

With that, we learn that the attack is solely based on HAOSHOKU... The question is, depending on the way Kaidou and Big Mom are, can the attack be exponentially increased in power?

We know that Kaido's Haoshoku standard is at the "heaven" division level and on par with Roger and Whitebeard's (as Yamato stated).

Yamato comparing both feats:

Impressed with this level of Acoc? So don't be surprised because Kaidou in his Shurron Hakkeu mode surpassed this level.
Kaido Conqueror's haki grows stronger with every minute he spends in Shurron Hakke.

With that we can define that Kaidou's Haki used in chapter 1026 that shared the skies with Luffy < Haki in Shurron Hakke mode that was even stronger.

As I already explained that Hakai is based on pure Conqueror Haki, and Kaidou manages to further increase his Haoshoku level, we can say that Hakai would be even stronger if Kaidou combined with Big Mom while he was in his "drunken mode"...

While Big Mom can somehow increase her Haki as well, it could be through consuming years of her life or something else, but the fact remains that Kaido's Haki can be fortified.

They were going for a big one and Kaido worried if her body can handle it.
They gave it their all. I dont think Bigger Mom or post-alcohol Kaido would change anything about it Hakai.
It was already portrayed as unstoppable, ultimately.
I disagree, with an increase in Kaidou's Haki strength the attack would get stronger, I would say it would go from a 32 caliber to a 38 caliber. LOL

But that doesn't mean the 32 caliber isn't unstoppable, it would remain unstoppable.

Kaido fought seriously after Luffy learnt to use CoC. Enjoyed it more when Luffy came back and fought till CP-0 intervened. He was having fun after a long ass time. It was evident by his expression change when CP-0 Stopped Luffy while Kaido absolutely smashed him down. He remembered Oden and was utterly disappointed. He had never felt such disappointment of not ending the battle by his brute power. When Luffy awakened, it wasn't a simple awakening. It was awakening of Nika the Sun GOD. Haters don't know the implication of this. The same Sun God that has been since Skypiea, during Big MOM's flashback had returned. Just look at the CoC blast that he gave after awakening. Even Kaido was in shock.
Kaido lost because he was fighting the Sun GOD Nika, the one who gives people freedom. Kaido's ideology of oppression vs the God that fulfilled people's wish for freedom. The miniballoon's that people of Wano sent up had a lot of wishes(Like the girl wished the defeat of Enel just before Luffy smashed him with the bell). People's wish for freedom gave rise to the Sun GOD and Wano's wish over 20 years was finished when Nika awakened. If it was any other, Kaido wouldhave won but it was Godly haki(haters think it's a punch but it was full of black lightning, he didn't touch it directly so used Ryou as well and Kaido didn't back down and collided head on) that lead to downfall. Kaido's shock to the last words of Luffy(A world where his friends can eat to their full) shocked Kaido( his flashback where he had to be caught by Marines to fulfill his hunger) and he knew Luffy was Joy boy.

People think the ending was weak, but I feel this shock of Kaido after learning of Luffy's kind of word was poetic. Just see how as a young one he had to face a lot of troubles to feed himself and the adult he became where he starved the people of WANO even his freaking child! Kaido was Joyboy candidate that took the wrong route vs Luffy the real Joyboy.

In other words, fights are things that are subjective and the majority of the evaluation of a fictional fight is clearly by the reader, I consider the fight between Kaidou and Luffy to be good, another person might think it's bad, it's subjective.

The fact that it was good for me is that there was a balance of power between the characters involved in the fight, in this case Kaidou and Luffy, Luffy finally grew to the point where he was no longer easily defeated by Kaidou, Kaidou's powers made the fight very unpredictable and interesting as well.

The engaging narrative was also good and has been highlighted not for 1 or 2 years but for 20 years, the motivations of both Kaidou and Luffy were clear from the beginning with Kaidou taking a significant step here to conquer the world and obtain the one piece while Luffy the liberation warrior came to free the country of Wano that suffered 20 years at the hands of Kaidou and to pursue his dream of becoming King of the Pirates.

I was always excited with the tension, and with a lot of twists and turns that occurred, one of them being the fact that Luffy died in combat against Kaidou and Kaidou descended to clean up the alliance completely, and this happened not just once but twice, in 1014 Luffy lost and was thrown into the sea to die, and the visual effects of the fight were simply insane.

The fight had a surprising ending, LOL, bringing consequences for Luffy and for the story, the fall of Kaidou here means the destruction of the impenetrable barrier that prevented the whole world from passing.

Unstoppable until it mets Zoro.

But of course Hakai would be stronger if BM and Kaido had used their power ups.
