Chapter 1040: Piracy
- Meme is still conscious but falls through the hole and lands on Wano, she's beaten up and can't move. A flying Laffitte spots the Meme and reports her location to someone using Den Den Mushi.
- The Saber of Xebec appears behind Zunesha, Teach laughs sending several earthquakes that make Zunesha fall and crush the WG fleet. One of the earthquakes knocks the BMP off the waterfall for the third time.
- Teach reveals that he came to Wano because he wants that "thing" which can revive "him", but he's surprised that Uranus which is revealed to be Zunesha is there as well. Aokiji freezes the sea so that Zunesha can't move.
- The 10 Titanic ships are docked in Wano mainland. Shiryu says it's been decades since he was exiled from his homeland, Avalo wonders whether his old captain Kaido is still alive in the midst of this battle.
- In an epic double spread Teach finishes Meme off with a Gura punch that blows Meme to smithereens. Teach: "Zehahaha, you can join Oyaji now old hag...". Doc Q ends up getting the Soru Soru no Mi.
- Teach: "Now with the Soru Soru no Mi, Moria's ability and "his" remains... I can recreate that nightmare..."
Chapter end, break next week.

I was so hyped for Smoothie and Galette coming to Wano, how naive was I?! Along with everyone else who was hyped them ofc? Also Compote came and was completely irrelevant once again too lol. Even fodders have had more dialogue, role, impact and feats than her!
But yeah this arc should have been Carrot's redemption arc massively. Was Oda trying to insult Naito through Perospero? Make Carrot suffer because of him? Why does Oda hate Carrot so much now after making her look so great in Zou and WCI? Or did he just remember Carrot is female and has to downplay her along with Wanda? Lmao, sigh. What can we do really? No wonder him and Kishimoto were such good friends!
Inu and Neko should have beaten Jack together, not just left to Inu and after a tough fight involving Jack's Hybrid, actual named attacks and even his awakening. Luffy even said he was gonna beat Jack and avenge Zou FFS, sigh. Luffy hasn't even faced any of the Beast Pirate commanders and barely any of the Tobi Roppo too! Only his fight with Ulti as far as I remember!
I saw people bringing up how Who'sWho suddenly had a hate boner for Luffy when Jinbei fought WW but WW didn't care for Luffy before that despite being aware of him too, lmfao!
Neko avenging Pedro is great for him too naturally but not for Carrot and Wanda.Neko would have just been proud of them and satisfied for avenging Pedro for them especially if Pero died too!
I like Perospero too much for him to be killed off but Neko could always swoop in and kill Perospero later if Pero tries to get a last desperate kill attempt on Carrot and Wanda or so and tell him to rot with his candy in Hell or something, whilst saying Pedro can rest peacefully now, he has been avenged or so.
On the other hand, I do sympathise with people who say Perospero was just defending his territory from invaders and thus enemies, but he did delight in torturing others and he's a villain, he's evil so he's not completely innocent either ofc, far from it. I don't want him to die personally but I wouldn't be devastated or truly mad if he did either, it would be understandable. If he had actually directly killed Pedro, it would be a very different story naturally.
Chapter 1040: Enduring Death
- The hooded creature hits zoro with the scythe but it doesn't kill him
- Zoro suddenly feels all the pain from the medicine which is wearing off
- The hooded creature asks zoro why he still hasn't finished his mission.
- Zoro answers ''You mean slicing his head off? Lets make a deal. Take away my pain and I will give you one of my beloved swords''
- The hooded creature fasts forward zoro's damage and zoro is screaming in pain while the process.
- We can see Luffy in his Gear 4 with black lightning surrounding him. It seems like a new form of gear 4.
- Kaido uses awakening and his transformation looks much more meanacing, like some sort of demon. The from is called Lord of Dragons
- Luffy hits Kaido with a new attack called ''Ultra Tiger Gattling'' and kaido responds to him with ''Dragon Realm Bagua''
- Both lay on the ground after clashing with each other not moving any bodyparts.
- Sanji wakes up but he can't move. His germa powers vanished and he feels every pain that he took against queen
- ''Where is that moss head? That idiot is going to die!'' Sanji is trying to call zoro with his Den Den Mushi but there is no response.
- At the end of the chapter we can see a silhouette standing in the background with 2 swords.

This is ridiculously good man, very well written! Also inevitably much better than whatever Oda will give us especially next chapter too!
Really appreciate the details of Pizarro being an ex Beast Pirate and maybe he could be the missing 4th calamity too and also Shiryu mentioning his exile from his blatant homeland too. Doc Q getting the soul fruit works very well too, fits with the Shinigami theme he has and with this arc right now especially. Also the setup for Xebec being resurrected as well. BB taking down BM, the dialogue, the laughter earthquakes, Aokiji freezing the sea to block Zunesha (and maybe even the waterfall too so BMP can't climb it too?! ) are all great too.
I also am adamant that Devon is related to Wano too, there was a theory she was hunting the ones with the Crescent Moon tattoos hence her nickname and Komurasaki would be the biggest target for her personally aside from Boa naturally, so this would have been very apt too then!

Even if we did, they will be pointless fodder like the "Underworld Emperors" we saw at WCI. I had so much hope for them and even was a believer with some others that some of them may be related to Sanji and were a mafia type family or assassin family (not like the sentai clowns we got with Germa) and we would have an actual gritty, noir type storyline with him and his family, lmfao. Also connected to Capone naturally!
Some of these characters look like they would from Totland, one straight up looking like a puppet or even Pinocchio without the long nose maybe and another sort of like a slimmer Hawkins with a sword there. The horns one was thought of to be from Kaido's crew too.

They are reserved for a future arc(s) when some Yonko falls snd the balance breaks.
So if you people couldn't understand how a plot progression works, you failed misserably.
They're lurking in tje shadows to elude WG but when the balance breaks, they will show up.
Doflamingo could operate thanks to two things:
- His noble status.
- His Shichibukai status.
This made him "special" and the most famous broker in the past, but now things are changing.
