- Chapter 1,048: "the beginning of the end".
- In the cover, the mysterious characters are still silhouetted and chocolat town is in shambles, someone is contacting Oven.
- Chapter begins with orochi and Hiyori, there's some dialogue about how Hiyori has suffered through Kaido and orochi's tyranny.
- Denjiro appears with caribou, pulling the ame no habikiri out of caribou and throwing it to Hiyori.
- In an amazing doublespread Denjiro and Hiyori perform a combination attack on orochi, there's a few panels of Denjiro and Hiyori flashback
- the scene cuts to zoro and Franky, Enma starts vibrating to Franky's surprise and Zoro starts to awaken, on the same page a few of the other Strawhats have some dialogue with each other.
- back to Luffy vs Kaido, as Luffy's punch closes in on Kaido, Kaido closes his eyes and begins to remember his life
- in another amazing double spread (possibly the best one so far) we see young Kaido being recruited by rocks. young big mom, shiki and whitebeard are all present
- rocks: "come! I need a strong apprentice"

Sanji runs so fast to save hiyori but in the process of doing so he accidentally created a Wildfire of blue flames that spread throughout the castle and accidentally cremates Orochi
No amount of Water Raizo uses can put these flames out and all the surrounding allies and enemies bones start melting almost instantaneously
Even Jinbe is heavily affected as he struggles heavily to hold up his Strongest CoA defense
While Franky is making his way over to chopper, an unconscious Zoro awakens with IMMENSE FEAR and sweat as he senses a MONSTEROUS energy from Sanji and tells Franky about the deal they made together
Franky wants to confront Sanji but Zoro is utterly terrified.
Zoro: “Even at full strength I wouldn’t be able to take him on”
Zoro:”Let’s leave this one to Luffy”
