It's not that deep though. Kishi presents this all in chapters 507 and 508, Kisame joined up with Itachi because of their similarities. Though of course it's Itachi and everything isn't as it appears, they end up being opposites in nearly every way.

I've always felt wind is Zoro's natural element too and we saw him and Kaido have identical moves too...

Zoro's shadow was in this zombie and he's obviously a samurai and thus from Wano ofc too.
