As some artists put it, "AI" is just a marketing term for automated plagiarism that takes people's artwork without permission and smashes it together to attempt to make something. It's not that impressive. And you vastly overestimate how long it takes artists to draw/paint stuff. Here's just one 1 hour sketch from an artist I like
In just 1 hour he makes a very good scene.
Then there's this guy who teaches landscape painting doing things very fast as well
Far from 40-50 hours.
I heard 40-50 from someone else and idk much about art, so i was talking out my ass there lmao.
Doing that in just 1 hour is fucking amazing, I can't even fathom that. It took me a few hours to draw simpler sketches and colour them in when I was were lot younger. I wasn't that great at it either.
Ive seen artists say their art did take them anywhere from 20-50 hours before but i have no idea how truthful/accurae that is too, due to my limited knowledge of art.
I suspected that was the case with the AI generation unfortunately. With this shitty NFT culture and the amount of actual art theft that goes on including these NFT scum who take people's hard work and resell it as their own "trademarked" NFTs makes me sick.
As cool as this AI generation is, I fear they are trying to replace actual artists with it. I didn't even know it uses other people's art like that but it does make sense, that's disgusting.
Makes me more apprehensive of the future and our creative rights and such then.
