no not really a proper trio is the monster trio worstgen trio they get their exslusive panels and moments like the worstgen trio fighting the marines in front of the auction and destroying a beast pirates ship or the monster trio destroying pasifistas you don’t have that with luffy,zor,nami

while i agree there’s an OG group in the strawhats crew it’s not a trio it’s the east blue members they are given more screen time than the rest and more moments

Monster trio is fan made headcanon, show me a panel where that’s exclusively stated.

rather there are much more Zoro/Luffy duo panels/fights/moments/direct comparisons. I can name fifty at the top of my head.

and the only debatable monster trio panel is the Fishman island one

Except Oda specifically considered the above three as the triggers of One Piece at the beginning of OP.

In addition, he used to draw the three together quite often in those times.

Times may have changed, but they are the original trio. It is not up for debate.

the monster trio is a fan name but the trio itself is very clear in the manga

The trio has not even been present in half the story, where was it it Dressrosa. Zou, WCI, even Wano

Facts Usopp and even Sanji was asleep. Sanji didn’t make commanding judgements for the crew until Swirly hats in Dressrosa. Pre timeskip, Luffy Zoro and Nami called the shots and called what needed to be called out
