Beckenbauer is the best.
Maldini and Baresi might have been a tiny bit better at pure defending, but Beckenbauer didn't win the Ballon D'Or multiple times for nothing (as a defender!).
He was basically a playmaker playing the CB position, who could also dribble and charge forward when necessary.
Watching full games of 70s Bayern/Germany is ridiculous. Beckenbauer just owns the pitch.
