I agree that I would have preferred Shiggy to stay the main villain but AFO is not that bad. I think there is still some potential left in the show to have good moments and story, It is not an amazing or super original shonen that for sure but not the worst. And Endeavor is a great character !!

Of course dragon ball has a fairly simplistic writing but that's not a flaw, it still manages to keep a certain consistency, + the MC has no objective and I prefer it that way. because hearing every 10 luffy chapters come out "I will become the pirate king" is funny 2 seconds

No, Time skip's purpose was to let Katakuri teach Luffy about CoO and FS, and let Kaido train him for CoC. Timeskip was a bit too early, or a wasted opportunity.
