Funny you should say that too, I really wanted it to be it's own unique thing, something that really makes swordsmen distinguised from everyone else, along with different martial arts and such.
I don't want everything being related to DFs and Haki, there was talks of Rokushiki apparently being alluded to being Haki based a while ago in the community, which worried me. I can't remember if it was mentioned in the OP magazine or SBS or VCs or somewhere like that? I remember it coming up as a topic a while ago though.
