They are trying to run agitations and scare people. Russia ain't attacking anybody. The US and Nato are allowing themselfs too much, russia has to show that they don't let them do what they want and put them in their place.

According to our last census, we have:
42% of white people
9,4% of black people
46,8% of "pardos"(the classical latin color)
Also, we have at least 1,6 milions of yellows(asian descendants)
The only reason why we're more recognized by dark skin tone it's cause this favors the export of our culture. It's easier to be remembered for the exotic, so the media ended up choosing a certain stereotype to be sold as the main image of the country.
But i agree with you, netflix will probably choose some actor with a darker skin tone because it would be better accepted.

1. During the WW1 when the "English Empire" had more power and influence than the US?
2. During the WW2 when Nazi Germany and Japan destroyed English Empire, France Empire and took over half of the Soviet Union while killing thousands of American and Canadian soldiers?
3. During the "Cold War" when the "Soviet Union" was a thing and half of the world was under its influence?
4. Or now that China is an emerging superpower with an economy that can rival the us?
