Kaido wants a glorious death but that ain't gna happen. Luffy the dream breaker ain't gna grant him his glorious death, he can forget alladat. Either one of the following scenario will happen;
Scenario one - Luffy defeats him and personally tell Zoro to cut off Kaido's head

Scenario two - Luffy beats him so bad, he decides to take the cowards way out by turning into a dragon to escape Wano, at that point Zoro jumps in and cuts off his end. He eventually dies a coward's death, nothing glorious about that.

Ironically both scenario are impossible to happen

First scenario, Luffy won't ever order Zoro to kill a defeated opponent

Second scenario, Kaido will never flee like a coward, and Zoro is not the type of person to kill a fleeing opponent.

And in general, Oda won't make Kaido look pathetic at all, readers can already tell Oda tries to build Kaido as one of the greatest villain, the hype he has given is nothing like others.
He want a glorious death, he may not have achieved it, but at the same time Oda won't make his death or his end looks pathetic.
