It's two different scenarios though. In one he was back-stabbed (not literally, he was stabbed in the stomach but you get the idea) by a trusted ally. And in the other an attack was launched from quite a distance away, which he could have prepared for.

One thing is for sure though, all these big names were let go and replaced with the Seraphim, and Mihawk had to tag team with Crocodile to be considered a real threat to the WG. No problem with that but it's just that there are a lot of delusional takes surrounding the "Marine Hunter" epithet. Doesn't mean Mihawk is not a high top tier, but he's still a stain compared to the entire Navy

Mihawk abandoned his island, and even said "long time since I've been the one being chased", kinda makes you think lol
