Speculations the biggest wano plothole

#21
Inu and neko left wano a long time ago, they could have done it.

contacting shanks or WB is fairly easy. All you have to do is go to their territory and talk to the lower ranked members of their crew
True true, realistically speaking Inu and Neko should contact all potential allies in that 20 years period, and gave them the rough estimate when their support is needed.

Now a new thought, is Inu and Neko aware of the prophecy/ 20 years plan? We will know soon but for discussion sake,is it possible they have no idea?

I think the rough understanding we get is, Oden died, the red scabbards rush back to their castle, Inu Neko starts quarreling and got captured and escaped Wano, Ashura and Denjiro fought Kaido a little allowing the rest to reach Toki and her child, Kinemon and co got sent to the future, Kawamatsu fled with Hiyori. Denjiro/Kyoshiro(hehe) then got to see Toki's last moment.

So in this scenario its possible Inu and Neko have zero idea that Momo and Hiyori survived and about the whole 20 the years plan. Its far from satisfactory i have to admit, but I'm grasping for straws for an explanation.

Yeah I agree with ya on this one.

Now to answer your question, let's just say that Oda didn't consider that possibility as he was too busy hyping up Oden and making us feel sympathetic to his upcoming death, so kaido's defeat will hopefully be more satisfying. That's the main goal after all.

You see these kind of 'plot holes' all the time in One Piece, its honestly nothing new. Things that can happen and would make sense to happen but didn't end up happening.

Since the beginning of Oden's introduction and backstory: Oda had Oden set up as a noble, strong and fair warrior who was framed by a lie and struck down by wicked evil. This whole thing about killing kaido and orochi is just the simple theme of 'redemption and justice'. Not the most innovative storytelling mechanic I say, but definitely a very popular one. Just go take a look at movies like '47 Ronin'.

Oden was as dead as a duck and his fate was sealed before we even saw what he looked like. All he needed was a backstory full of badass and a tragic death.

The 'plothole' you mentioned probably isn't important to Oda right now. I wouldn't hold my breath on Oda giving this 'plothole' a good explanation anytime soon, maybe he'll answer it in a SBS fans' question.

So after we learned all the lore about Oden and the scabbards and what kaido did to wano, there is one question that comes to my mind. If Oden was friends with all these different top tiers, then why did he never ask any of them to defeat kaido?

on a similar note:

Why didn't any of the scabbards ask these top tiers?

Like if they had decided to take out kaido 2 years ago they could have got the full whitebeard pirates and WB himself on their side, Shanks and the red hair pirates, as well as possibly Rayleigh and Scopper(if he is still alive). Kaido would be dead by now if they did something like that.

Even still, why do the dukes only ask for help from Marco. What about Shanks? the buggy pirates? Rayleigh? Crocus?
All of those people loved Oden and could have agreed to fight kaido with them(except for maybe buggy, but he could easily be manipulated if you offered to pay him for it).

I really hope Oda gives us a good answer as to why this didn't happen and not something contrived
Its a pretty easy one to answer. Many of them probably weren't aware, or weren't able to get back into the country. Even WB didn't reckon he'd be able to manage getting back to Wano on his ship. Also, could be extremely difficult for Oden to reach or contact his allies outside of Wano(considering he was has no navigational prowess, and Orochi could easily monitor or prevent people from coming back into the country).

I think the Big Mum pirates failed expedition into the country showed how difficult and dangerous it was even entering the country, much less Oden somehow contacting the outside world without Orochi or Kaido noticing.

Instead of gathering allies, they spent their time getting stronger, both of them becoming chiefs of Zou, which is a major accomplishment.

They also likely didn't have any idea how such a plan would be formulated.

Kanjuro gettin lost and Zoro not gettin lost has to be biggest PLOTHOLE to stop beast pirates from finding out about scabbards and 5400 Men, makes no sense whatsoever. Kanjuro lost in mines and Zoro found beast pirates right after he entered the skull...
