This might be somewhat a small petty complaint but

I think that the fact that all the new BBP devil fruits(SJW's doesn't count since he had it pre Timeskip, possibly Lafitte too, and Aokiji ofc) have unknown Past users is a mistake and a wasted opportunity for worldbuilding and characterization of these guys

The only one we know is Shilliew who got Absalom's fruit. The six Titanic Captains who got a DF we don't know who had these abilities and how did the captains get them, we could have seen them find those users and seen their Pre DF abilities that allowed them to becoming big deals strong enough to Be put in Level 6/get the attention of teach. Technically we know the OG crews abilities and especially Burgess but the Level 6 prisoners should have been given that chance to show off their self made abilities.

And not only that, but the past DF users Could be used as worldbuilding trivias to make the World feel more alive , to let us know that Luffy and people who are associated with his adventures aren't the only chess pieces in this world.

Oda not focusing on this is disappointing

Yeah it turns out Teach Devil Fruit hunting just meant “now Teach’s Pirates simply get their base abilities powered up,” I thought we’d at least see a couple of important character deaths but even Shiryu gaining Absalom’s fruit really doesn’t matter since Moriah can just reanimate him.
