I love shows that use established tropes in fun, interesting ways. What sets this show apart is that Cid's not just chuuni, he's so chuuni no one else can even begin to grasp his real intentions.

Watching this man off in his own world, literally viewing the people around his as tools for his amusement and giving them defined roles relating to light novels/anime, then somehow conning them, WITHOUT MEANING TO, into believing he's guiding them all, is amazing.

Because, CID IS A GENIUS. He's just crazy. Watching this overpowered nutcase trick people into thinking he's a master planner is some of the best writing I've seen in years, and the adaptation is amazing. The lighting, use of music to add to scenes, the camera angles... everything feels so deliberately placed.

I really hope it starts blowing up, I thought this show would be mostly comedy, I'm at awe at how it keeps surprising me.

I hope Cid "dies" many more times, his "death" scenes are fucking hilarious.

I like how the girls around him aren't blind simps, but like him because of his actual accomplishments, too. Most of the women around him are competent as hell, it's just that he's on another level thanks to his prior life experience giving him the ability to learn complex magic and skills at a younger age.

Finally watched this and damn, I love everything of this show...it's so rad and so dumb and so elegante at the same time.

Watched it together with a co-worker buddy and he also loved it so much, he wants to purchase the manga for this lol.

Best girl are Alpha and Delta for sure, anything else is blasphemy, Alpha has to be in there.

as far as I know its not a harem
it is a harem in that sense, there is just no romance, it's actually only flex and the idea behind it. It's more the parody of it, at the end of the season 1 we see the Shadow Garden headquarters with their training facility and everyone there is female.

The point is him having the biggest harem possible and this is done by giving him his own amazon nation literally.

Yeah I have this show on 9/10 right now, with 10/10 enjoyment factor.

Hyped for season 2!
