Questions & Mysteries The end really feels close now

#1
This last chapter gave me a real ending vibe.

Not because something huge happened alone, but because the whole chapter felt like Oda was speaking directly to us: “I’m not joking anymore, the end is near.” The tone, the way certain moments were framed, and that feeling that every scene now truly matters made it hit different.

For the first time in a while, it feels like we’re not just building toward another arc mystery, but toward the actual final stretch of the story. Almost like Oda wants readers to feel that sense of “this is it.”

Did anyone else get that feeling from this chapter?

What moment made you feel the most that we’re entering the endgame now?

The whole Gorosei arrived at Egghead gave me the ending vibe, but he still find way to drag it out. It feels like it is fast at some points of the story and he will just let go of the gas pedal once a while. Now we are at Elbaph...

The SH not having that last road poneglyph still give me hope we are at least a little far from the end.

Cuz they need first to find the man marked by flames, somehow obtain the poneglyph... reaching Laughtale, Void Century flashback... and the final war.

And by Final War it could mean = 3+ years as any anime. Imagine an anime with so many characters like One Piece, that Final War is going to last a couple lf years for sure.

I always believed that One Piece is written to reach Chapter 1300, no idea though whether it's rushed before it or continues little more past it,
For someone who wanted to finish East Blue Saga in exactly 100 Chapters, I'm sure He intends to End it in similar fashion,
I think Chapter 1200 will make it evident that We are in last 100.

The Imu reveal definitely makes me feel that we are close to the ending, which is bittersweet.
On one hand it absolutely does, on the other Oda could make Lodestar/Laugh Tale (and Mariejoa?) last another 10 years if he wanted.

Going through the list of players in this endgame:

- Burned Scar Man
- Luffy and his Fleet, of which we need to see come together
- Blackbeard's crew + Fleet
- Shanks’ crew + Fleet
- Cross Guild and whatever complete form they end up being (surely more than 3 members)
- All Supernova as allies probably
- Former Shichibukai like Kuma, Hancock, Weevil, Moria and Doflamingo who dont end up joining CG
- Very likely Former Roger and Whitebeard Pirates. Hard to see Oda ignoring them.
- Very likely Katakuri and Yamato's versions of the BMP and Animal Kingdom Pirates. The BMP need to go after Pudding. Yamato will absolutely be tied to Pluton being unleashed in Wano.
- Sun Pirates
- Germa/MADS/Vegapunk
- Any allied Kingdom and their sovereigns/leaders (Alabasta, Skypiea, W7, Ryuugu, Dressrosa, Tontatta, Mokumo Wano, Elbaph)
- All of the Marines...Akainu, Admirals, Admiral Codename Marines, Koby/Sword, etc
- All of the Revolutionaries.... Dragon, Sabo, Commanders, etc.
- The entire echelon of the WG, including Imu, Gorosei, Knights, Serephim, Cipher Pol, Impel Down Jailers if the world starts sinking, Kong, etc.

Like...this is a stupid amount of people and he's essentially set up each to fight in some capacity somewhere down the line. Idk how he does all of this, but again thats why this series could easily last 10 more years past Elbaph if Oda just wants to make his endgame thorough and yet simultaneously chaotic as hell.

Edit: Worse yet, this in just who has story merit. Oda can and probably will feature new characters or reintroduce former villains/Rocks pirates, and even movie villains if he wanted to.

Yeah its the beginning of the end. Once we get Shanks full backstory, we are pretty much on the way to the climax. But that "end" will take another 5-6 years. Especially because of the final war. I don't think Luffy can get any stronger and a lot of questions have already been answered. Honestly its time, I would like OP to end in the next 5 years, I just want to see how it all wraps up. Its been dragging long enough and we really don't need any more side characters. Focus on the SH's and their dreams as we approach the end.

He could make it last another 10 years, and I honestly hope he will :blobevil:

Though I am also sure he will leave some of the mysteries or "actors" unresolved as well.

200 chapters is not alot when you factor in over 10x the characters are going to be involved in the endgame of the series vs Wano and Wano had only 50 less chapters in setup through climax.

It will take longer than you think, or itll be rushed. There is no reasonable in between
Oda spent the first 50 chapters of Wano introducing a fuck ton of new side characters.I honestly don’t think Oda is gonna introduce anymore significant players outside the Burn Scar man. What we see is what we get. Unless you have some ideas.

And maybe I’m underestimating Oda but I highly doubt he’s gonna be dedicating a full chapter on irrelevant bums like Kinemon. Even in Wano he had Denjiro dissapear for like 50 chapters before getting his single moment on Orochi.

200 chapters is like the bare minimum though if he wants to cover almost everything. If it ends up a bit longer (~250 chapters) that’s perfectly fine by me. But I honestly think Oda is trying to retire before his 60s lol.
