In One piece a persons shadow seems to hold some of their consciousness and memories.
Plus shadows cannot be taken from the dead and a creature without a shadow cannot live in the sunlight.
Does a person lose their shadow when they die in one piece?
Also a persons soul is their lifespan which seems to work more as a fuel source for the person to stay alive then a traditional soul. A soul in one piece seems to be finite and can be tapped into for more power. I came to this conclusion from what big moms fruit has shown.
I feel like Oda is hinting at something to us by introducing these concepts.
Are there any other things like this in one piece?
