I saw someone else point out something kind of interesting about that Saturn death scene. There seem to be "smiling faces" in the fire.
(Chapter 1125, Page 14, When the Vice Admirals are blown back after seeing the exterior of the ship, on the right side around the "AAGH!")
Now. this could be nothing. Maybe it's just a weird flame effect Oda decided to go with.
...Or, it could actually mean a lot. This could be a hint about the nature of Imu and the Gorosei's powers.
These "Faces" could be some sort of "ghosts" or "spirits". It's possible that Imu is literally powered by the spirits of the dead.
Or they could be the spirits of Devil Fruits. It's possible that, a lot like Blackbeard, the "Yokai" forms of the Gorosei are actually achieved by using multiple Devil Fruits at the same time. And they're kept from exploding by Imu's power. And once Imu takes the "protection" away....they explode because they're using multiple Devil Fruits, as we've been told.
Or....and this is MY pet theory, they're actually powered by the Nightmares of those they've been imprisoning since before the Void Century. We've seen the power of "Dreams" through Luffy and Nika. It kind of makes sense to me if Imu and the Gorosei were actually powered by the opposite force.
(And yes, I'm saying it's the nightmares and embodied hatred of the Dragons imprisoned at the center of the planet. I'm not giving up on that theory, yet! More on that here:)
