Our ancestors used to walk around all the time, and the sunlight/exercise gave them natural high levels of pleasure chemicals.
Now we're sex and drug (and spoiler) obsessed freaks who have no time to exercise, have shitty food for diets, and get little sunlight.
Stress used to be visible, right? "Oh, fuck, it's a lion."
Now it's "Did my boss's sport's team lose, so now this week is going to suck?"
We used to have some management over our stress, now we have governments forcing people to do their own taxes, when the governments already know how much they need to pay, because they want the people to mess up the math and owe them more.
So much stress comes from the human species respecting stupidity.
