So in the recent one piece chapter 1022 we got this panel

Let me also show you a few panels from chapter 908 of the manga where the gorosei and imu look like they were going to discuss about a "great cleansing".

we see imu carrying a photograph of vivi while he was about to announce the target of another cleansing. curiously we also learn that the incident that happened during the reverie which involved the alabasta kingdom. we also see that the photograph of shirahoshi is pinned with a knife.

here are my questions:

is the world govt trying to erase the history of certain kingdoms/races/people like the people of alabasta, fishmen? since this chapter we learnt that king's race was living on top of the redline (a nice contrast: race of people who can control fire living on top of the redline while a race of fishmen who can control water living at the bottom of the sea)

was king's race erased in a similar cleansing long ago in history?

lemme know your thoughts.

either fishman or alabasta.
im leaning alabasta based on the contents of chapter 908 and that an incident happened in the reverie.

this is my theory regarding the "incident" at the reverie - we have a death, an assassination attempt and something to do with sabo and the revos.

my guess is sabo and the revos fought the admirals to free kuma.
the gorosei tried to kill the royalties of alabasta.
they killed cobra. botched the execution of vivi and she was on the run.
sabo found vivi and escaped from the place.

the world govt pinned the assassination of cobra on sabo and also blame him for kidnapping vivi.
the admirals are chasing after sabo now.
they probably have cp0 on their tail as well looking to kill sabo and vivi and blame sabo for vivi's death.
the other revo commanders get caught.

this is a huge thing since it hurts all the good cred that the revos have built up for like decades.

vivi sabo on their way to wano with the other rev commanders
govt trying to hide the fact that sabo got away

but morgans published it bc it makes the govt look incompetent that even with 2 admirals they let a Top revolutionary commander get away

yeah. big mom also pretty much confirms that king is probably the last of his race. i wonder if oda will touch on his backstory in this fight or maybe later on in the arc.
I’m curious if he’s like a giant who lives for years. Or who his parents are.

Honestly I feel like the WG left many of them alive and through them in Impel down to be their jailers and torturers. Over time it’s likely his race just died out. This also works with the theory that King joined Kaido when he was guarding him at Punk Hazard because it’d make King very easily seduced from the promise of freedom if he never had any.

Has all the hallmarks of a genocide attempt, doesn’t it? Even if it’s not a great cleansing it’s certainly sounding on a par with what happened to Ohara and Flevance.

Course, the real interesting question is why, did they just want the land and force King’s race off it, or is there something special about the Red Line. Is there a relation between King’s folk and the people from the moon?

I think there’s a very interesting story to come about how Kaido originally formed the Beast Pirates.

exactly. the govt probably wanted to twist it and announce that sabo died and they could later show up with his body. but morgans refused i guess.

agreed.

kaido had king and queen with him since the oden flashback. he probably beat the others into submission much later.
king - has unconfirmed ties to impel down, is from an extinct race who were all probably killed by the WG.
queen - ties to vegapunk.

the kaido flashback seems like its gonna be real juicy with this and the rocks pirates lore.

I think so.

I think they also plan to erase the D. and Luffy is likely far from constituting the only D. target of Im sama.

I can't wait for the uncountable mysteries to be unraveled, but a WG arc will probably merely spawn as the last Big one.

there's a good chance kaido was captured by the world govt right after he ate his fruit at god valley.
would explain vegapunk making the failed artificial dragon fruit that momo has and how queen and king joined kaido.
it would also explain the story of how the countless execution attempts failed, and how he escaped by sinking those prison shisp and how he is called a "creature" and not a person.

I think the "great cleansing" is different from the "basic" genocide the WG commits (see Ohara). It's probably vastly bigger. It also seems like it is part of what makes up the Void Century, imo.

Anyway, I think King's race is relevant to a cleansing more like Ohara. The WG saw them and decided to get rid of them. Oddly enough, we know virtually nothing about the Red Line. It's a ridiculously huge piece of land yet One Piece never truly has covered it in the story.

Who lives up there outside of that one location in Mariejois? How does the land look? Why does it look this way? This is what I'm hoping King's race and potentially Elbaf explains (the whole concept of Jorgumandr surrounding the world, Dorry and Broggy already referred to the Red Line as the Great Serpent)

This panel also arises another question.
There was a theory about the red line being man made through WG and i believed in that theory, while now it seems that the red line had already been there and WG simply took over and erased King's race so it's interesting.
