Theory The "hero" of the final war has to be Koby, not Luffy

#1
While many people in the one piece world view Luffy as a hero, to a majority of the world, he is one of the worst pirates who has ever lived. Just as Shanks and Roger were before him.

This isn't something I think is going to change, nor should it. While Luffy's actions are heroic, he ultimately takes on the role of a villain within the world he lives in. That is simply the life of a pirate.
This is something Luffy has done over and over again. Look at when he punched Koby in order for him to be accepted into the marines, or when he pretended to steal the treasure in order to protect Gaimon's feelings, or when he supposedly "kidnapped" rebecca at the end of Dressrosa.

Something similar has to happen at the finale of the series. While Luffy is the hero the world deserves, Koby is the hero the world needs. As we know, the celestial dragons are hated by many outside mariejois. We saw what happened even to good celestial dragons like Homing when they were left without WG protection. When the celestial dragons are removed from power, what is going to stop the people from genociding them, as I'm sure a majority of them would love to do?

I think Luffy will save the celestial dragons and in doing so, create world peace. He will do this by taking the role of a villain and sitting on the empty throne, proclaiming himself as king of the world. In doing this, Luffy will reach greater levels of Infamy than either Xebec or Roger. He will be the greatest pirate to have ever existed.

In doing this, Luffy will direct the anger of the world away from the celestial dragons and onto himself. Koby will engage in a fake battle with Luffy in which Luffy throws the fight, making Koby the greatest marine and hero of the world. Oda will probably reveal that Koby has celestial dragon heritage, making the world drop their hatred of CDs. And that will be it.

Luffy ends the story as the most infamous pirate, as he always dreamed; Koby ends the story as the greatest hero, as he always dreamed.

I dont see it viable that the end of the story is protecting the celestial dragons.

These people cannot change and have commited horrible crimes. Whats the purpose of saving them. They will probably die product of the massive destreuction imu will cause.

But most of them are products of their environment, molded by the excess they're born and raised in. If Dofla hadn't been kicked out of Mariejois, he'd be a snot-dripping little shit himself. Instead he's a selfaware little shit.
IF
Luffy's dream is to have a party with everybody
and IF
One Piece is to lead to a World Peace
then
at least some CDs must survive, repent, convert to Sun God Luffy's friendly ways and take part in the last worldwide feast, sharing food with Fishmen and Minks.
Otherwise it wouldn't be a story about learning and acceptance. It'd be another "You were born to burn" blunder, an empty justification to genocide lacking that empathy Oda wants to instill in his young readers.

Would you save a serial killer who murders someone randomly with no reason?
No.

You say it's "product of their enviroment" but that makes it look like the person is a unconscious being that no longer has the capability of reason. They do have a choice, they have it everyday, and act upon it and experience joy.
A brain like theirs that experience joy hurting others cannot be changed. As it's phisisyological already.

Anyways, staying manga focused. I find it far fetched that Imus defeat will suddenly "change their hearts".

Kaido and big Mom were not forgiven. Nor will Blackbeard or imu. But we will see. Óne of the things imu will do is gonna be whipe out CDs themselves from existence.

- I don't expect all CDs to miraculously survive. I expect someone "from their grouping", a new generation able to see the differences in ideologies;
- They ARE the product of their environment WHEN all the other CDs around them as douchebags, when slavely is the norm, and then even outsiders seem to be all right with it (I don't see no riots in small towns around the Old World railing against slavery);
- Thinking they are monsters unable to change goes against the very core of One Piece, which is about making mistakes, seeing them for it, learning from them, accepting how to grow and being accepted in return.

Once again, I don't expect Imu's defeat to make all CDs turncoats. Some of them will despair. Some not. Those who don't see their crumbling world of hatred and violence as a bad thing are more than welcome in Luffy's EOS world party. And even the rest, who will still despise Luffy for it, I don't see Oda have anybody kill on sight just because. They'll be taken in, reeducated. It's a One Piece, but it's filled with second chances.

Kaido, Big Meme, BB, and Imu are individuals.
We're talking entire groups. Executing all the CDs, including their children, just because they're CDs is genocide. You might see no excuse for them, but by doing it you have no excuse either.

Also. Nobody truly raised an eyebrow on Kaido's or Big Meme's ideologies. Luffy punched Kaido because he kept food away from Wanoans, but Big Meme's tyrannical run of WCI was, in the end, forgotten and forgiven. She was defeated because she opposed two Supernovas, not because she was mean to her citizens.

Makes perfect sense to me. Honestly I would be very hard pressed with anyone disagreeing with this for a multitude of reasons.

1. Coby canonically from the start that we readers got from the story was the first person luffy encountered

2. Aa stated in an sbs oda has confirmed that luffy only calls his friends by their actually names if they bare a great sense of importance to him.

3. The fact that he is elevating in ranks drastically fast

4. The fact that he is a Marine HQ head quarters captain that was also confirmed in the sbs to be 4 ranks higher than a regular marine captain

5. The fact that in the new world the world government sent him a captain to guard and protect two royal family to the actual reverie. We also know that he was the officer in charge since the only marine vessel there was a vessel actually named koby.

6. We find out from stussy that one whom has the exact same rank as another who have a seraphim an order cannot overite that order. We'll We see coby overite the order of seraphims on Amazon lilly that were instructed to attack by a VICE ADMIRAL. Which means coby chain of command of the seraphim supercedes that vice admirals.

7. The fact that luffy confirmed that coby is a man that follows through with his words. With zoro stating that luffy has made a powerful enemy by encouraging coby further. To add both luffy and zoro ended up being conqueror haki users.

CD will be completely disbanded. In the event that some survive will probably be some that already internally oppose these ideas. I see it possible, what I see less unlikely is that a fight with no direct contact with them will really be a game changer for any of the current CD tyrants. we do not know all of them so you might bd right a different kind will survive.

Imu already whipped out Luluisa Kingdom I think it was called, I doubt this is the only time we see an event like that. And massive genocide will give him edge as final end villian.

I'm not saying just because someone is "bad" they will die anyway. It's just the way I view things though!

A panel with Luffy wearing his PK coat/his hat, some guns strapped into his chest and sword at his hip while sitting in the empty throne would probably be the greatest panel in all of OP.

Well I think Luffy gonna end up as one hero among others, he is nothing like shanks, we see shanks has no problem killing.

Luffy is a disruptive power, he gonna turn the world upside down (literally and figuratively), finally everyone will see that the WG manipulated the truth all along.

Wano wad a hint of the final war according to Oda. So that statement means absolutely nothing.

I guess Luffy will be the true hero for us viewers but people will not see or even know about it. Then we will have Koby as fake hero once again.
