He'll fight both. This is the point of this thread. You guys have no issues giving Sanji 5 future opponents but with Luffy suddenly he cant have more than 2 lmfao
None of the Luffy vs Akainu arguments apply to Sabo, Sabo has never stated he wants to defeat Emperors and Admirals to surpass Roger nor was he scarred physically by Akainu

Because Akainu is not a fodder and Imu is stronger than every strongest fighter in the world combined so Luffy can't treat Imu as a dessert and he can't treat Akainu as an appetizer either? If Luffy fight both, i think it'll be wise for Oda to have Luffy vs Akainu happens at Laugh Tale, while Imu is someone Luffy can't fight without making Imu the only target since Imu's at the top of the powerlevel in entire history.
I didn't give Sanji 5 opponents and that's got nothing to do with Akainu at all lol, there's just no room for Luffy to fight Akainu unless you think it'll be a Blueno type neg diff, he's not having two extreme diff deathmatch fights in a single arc and Akainu isn't getting his own arc, he's nowhere near relevant enough for that and at the end of the day he's narratively just an underling for the real main antagonist, Imu.
- Sabo has the Mera which gives him a thematic matchup with Akainu, and also Oda's statement about how a superior devil fruit doesn't guarantee victory so this would be a good opportunity to show that
- He inherited Ace's will or consciousness which could set up revenge
- Admirals are the dogs and bodyguards of the Celestial Dragons and Sabo aims to take the Celestial Dragons down, so he most likely has to go through an Admiral first
- He experienced the same loss Luffy did when Ace died
- Sabo's set on protecting Luffy so it's possible he'll fight Akainu in order to protect Luffy
- The Revolutionaries have already repeatedly clashed/fought with the Admirals, meaning it could easily happen again on a larger scale

You want Sabo to fight Akainu because Fire vs Magma when the only way for him to win would be through HAKI which has NOTHING TO DO witht he "thematic matchup" you're trying to milk.

Again, Oda said a superior fruit doesn't guarantee anything, why would he make a claim like that and literally never prove it? Sabo is the perfect and only real opportunity to prove that.
How he wins wouldn't matter, it would be a fire vs magma fight overall.

Their end goal is the Celestial Dragon's but they still have to deal with the guys serving them which includes Akainu.
