The Legend Of Zelda Discussion Thread

After watching this trailer like 10 times and some analyses I believe it confirms what I've expected this game to be, basically a heavily updated version of Botw.

To the right is what looks like an entrance to the mountain which if it turns out to be fully explorable could be really cool.

It looks like the Maze in the Akkala region has been lifted into the sky.

During the lightning strike we can see this 'tornado' like thing which is also visable on the box art which is likely going to play a role.

While I do think that Hyrule being used again may be a negative point I believe this game could still be very fun.

Exactly what I was saying, I hope there is a full sky and underground map, there is no way this took 5 years to be made:endthis:

Yea but like I don't get it, realistically they could have showed at least 10% of the new things is the game was really new:endthis:
Devs prefer to not show much before the release. It's usually corporate that forces them to show more than they'd like in order to boost up sales. Nintendo seems confident in the game's ability to sell itself without spoiling too much of the content.

They don’t need to show us everything to convince us to buy it. It’s a botw sequel, they know they have us by the balls.
That's true.
Nevertheless, the Zelda team is quite known for listening to the fans, at least partly. They know what they're doing. I just think their marketing is a bit strange tbh. In BotW we had seen proper trailers + gameplay even when the release date was 1 year away. Now going on forwards, 3 months are left yet until release. Maybe they'll show more stuff in March or April.

Yeah I don't get it either tbh but I guess they do not want to spoil anything at all since I think this sequel will be a lot more story based.

- Enemy variant seems like it's going to be an issue again.

- I hope we aren't running around the same old map for like 70% of the game.

- Kind of wished Zelda was a character that sort of travels around with you, or at least moves around different areas based on progression. But Im guessing she'll get trapped or something.

- Praying for a more coherent story that takes place in the present. I don't want another game where your just learning about the past. Having a story based off flashbacks isn't interesting.

Yep. This is definitely an underground section.
It is just me or does the level design remind me of Xenoblade underground maps? Especially the ones of Xenoblade 2? It's clear that Monoliftsoft still helps the Zelda devs a lot.
Maybe I wouldn't know. Either way this should put some of those fears to rest. They've barely shown us anything about the game. We'll probably get a TOTK direct in mid april with some actual gameplay.
