Controversial The Loki/Harald/Xebec Flashback Is Already Better Than Kuma's

#29
While Kuma's flashback may pull at the heart strings of some i think the Loharbec flash back has done a great job balancing emotional moments, with hype and lore reveals
Kuma's is just too much of a sob story. Still better than the mess that was Oden's flashback or the entire Onigashima part of the Wano arc.

Lets face it,Kuma's flashback was basically tragedy porn.
Yup too much dripping with pathos.

The stuff you mentioned is nothing compared to:
Being enslaved by the World Nobles as a kid
Finding out your mom was killed
Seeing your dad shot in front of you
Your close friend that you grew up with was kidnapped, held hostage, raped, and then later on died
And finally having to sacrifice your mind and being forced to not see your adopted daughter anymore

Kuma's flashback is more emotional and more darker, and while the Loki flashback does have certain emotional moments, it is so far more focused on the lore and hype.
Let's be real, Kuma's flashback promotes dangerous behavior in young readers.

It's funny that Harald is also a super strong dude beloved by its people that kinda came out of nowhere and came to be respected by a legendary pirate yet he feels significantly less forced than Oden somehow
Because Harald is the OG.
He feels not forced, doing his own mission and still look strong. Oden was always praised and what happen?
- looked like a fodder in new world
- looked like a nobody in front of Roger
- was already struggle pretty much against Dragon Kaido
- his attacks been unspectuclar, looked more like a high tier.
- no skysplit, not any insane feat except the cut feat against Kaido.

Harald is the opposite, yes he was also be said to be one of the strongest but Oda didn't forced it. Everyone didn't have much expecentation with Harald and Boom he show how insane strong he was. Oden was the opposite, everyone was waiting to see the monster samurai in action but nothing was paid off.

Because that Harald feels far more realistic and better.

I blame Oda rushing the shit out of Kaido vs Oden despite hyping it for so long... And the clash he gave to Oden and Kaido in Orochi castle looked so weak...

I get the feeling Oda's trying to fix the half baked Oden writing by writing Harald as a better Oden

I hate the flashback of Oden because he acted dumb, nothing what was hyped before, was really good.

As example the flashback actually started good, but the first big let down:
- the event with Ashura vs Oden was complete offscreen, not a single moment of that encounter.
Then we saw the clash with Whitebeard but it ended fast without seing the rest.

Okay I get it, he wanted to move on.
But cmon it was the land of the samurai, display different swordman skills by Oden would fit pretty good.

Another point:
- After getting clapped by Roger, we didn't saw any scaling for Oden. Rather to learn and show adv CoC, we never saw it on panel.

Oda skipped any big moment for Oden, any big moment was rushed or skipped.

But I look over all this because all I wanted was Kaido vs Oden. And hell it was lucklaster, so bad that I was soo disappointed. I mean I get it, he didn't want to show much of Kaido but did he was serious?
No big new move by Oden, basic cut attack(enma was praised, in the end both swords cut Kaido)....

I didn't like how Oden was shown in chapter 970.
I didn't like how Kaido was shown..
The victory was cheap and disgusting, Kaido didn'z need such a victory. I get Oda didn't want to show a clear victory. But cmon both deserved better.

Was it so hard to show a panel what we got with Harald vs Xebec? Or Gaban vs Luffy/Zoro?

970 should focus on the beginning of the fight and 971 should be complete a Vs chapter between Kaido vs Oden, display Oden great power but also show why Kaido was called the strongest creature...

In the end Oda failed hard.
Everyone expected a big battle and yet it was lacklust, even Scabbards vs Dragon Kaido was better to read lol...

Let hope Harald portrayal stays like this, he deserve not to end like Oden.

Strongest Giant finally show what he is capable to do.
