I don't think anyone is arguing that Big Mom wouldn't win a prolonged fight, and her grabbing Marco is nothing to write home about in this encounter when she asked someone else to step in to attack him.
It's just like Luffy grabbing Katakuri before the mirror world wouldn't have been particularly noteworthy. He had to grab Brulee to pull both himself and Katakuri into the mirror world but no damage was done.

no damage was done because BM didn't even try to attack and her plan is to order pero to finish him quickly

Yeah I agree, I didn’t ever think Oden was top tier. People were basically arguing he was a top tier because he managed to land one hit on Kaido while enduring Kaido’s weak ass offense for hours, but I never bought into it.
There’s a reason Whitebeard gave Marco the first division spot over Oden despite Marco being young and inexperienced at the time, and this chapter we saw that Marco is strong enough to make a Yonko run away from him.

Makes much more sense in the Viz. Marco was able to match BM due to his matchup advantage, and when she negated that advantage by not using Prometheus anymore she instantly immobilised Marco with ease.
She then left the battle because she had other priorities and stated she didn't have the soul weapons to waste on Marco as opposed to not having the weapons to deal with him.
Marco also wasn't as worried about Pero's arrow in the Viz which makes more sense - all he said was "well, this is great". Overall Big Mom definitely looked superior in my opinion, but Marco seemed capable regardless and BM implied she'd need to use weapons to beat him when she absolutely destroyed Queen without weapons earlier in the arc for example.

The Marco vs Linlin clash seems to be going on for some time.
It most likely started here, back in chapter 992
Enough times has passed that Peros could get up above his initial position from next to Mama

Linlin and Perospero seemed to have planned the assault on Marco, as each knew what they need to do, Linlin grabbing hold of Marco and Perospero having an arrow ready, and Linlin instructing him to do it and Peros noting he employed Mama's help
So it's a confirmed 2 on 1 against Marco.
As for the clash.
Marco matched Linlin's elemental attack head on causing destruction, with Linlin having access to all of her 3 homies
