Luffy started as fodder while Akainu has a head start as the Fleet Admiral and current top 10, at least out of the people confirmed to be alive ( possibly higher if he's Prime Sengoku's level but we can't assume that just because he's the current FA ).
So of course he'd end it sooner if he had Luffy's plot armor and what not.

Oda made no mention about about the perks of being fleet admiral or anything, he was only talking about strenght (強く). Ask any japanese translator.
I still recognize that with his current feats and portrayal Kaido is above so if that what you wanted to prove you won.
