Speculations The races of One Piece were bioengineered by the AK

I hold the belief that the different races of OP did not always exist and only humans were sentient but maybe the other races were bioengineered from regular humans plus added elements for warfare and other labor related purposes

The giants may have been a Viking like civilization that underwent gigantification but their early ancestors were human; meaning Nika could be a regular human and still be from Elbaf until their descendants eventually underwent forced gigantification by the AK

The buccaneers/lunarians could have been the pacifictas of the past. The winged races were bioengineered to explore the space and the fishmen and merefolk developed to explore the sea which explains why Poseidon is an ancient weapon because she’s a bioengineered weapon

In conclusion: I believe that the other races bioengineered from human dna(slaves) plus other lineage factor elements

That makes sense. If I recall correctly, there are a few characters throughout the setting that are hybrids. Dellinger is a human/fishman hybrid, Big Pan is a giant/fishman hybrid, numerous Charlotte family members are human hybrids and fishmen/merfolk hybridise regularly.

While that could be taken as Oda just wanting to make creative combinations, it could be revealed that all the races of One Piece have a common origin (hence the easy hybridisation) that basically makes them all related subspecies of a single species (i.e. Human) rather than separate species.

Exactly but it’s not as simple as natural diversity, I think there’s a scientific factor to this diversity and that their ancestors were originally slaves (acquired from weaker/opposing nations before the void century by the AK who were the world government of that time period) who were experimented on to become this way and then utilized for several purposes such as warfare and exploration of the space/sea as well as labor

Which is why I believe that both Nika and Joy Boy to be normal humans like Luffy
