Both Oda and WG wants us to believe that Myosgard was sentenced to death because he defended an inferior race. But we alk know that somehow WG always end up getting information like Ace being Roger's son (maybe because he was talking about it all the time?) and here is no difference. The real reason is that WG was trying to sneak kidnap Shirahoshi already knowing she was the ancient weapon Poseidon and Myosgard not only prevented her kidnap but also made it a huge chaos that would reinforce the security of her and making the kidnap even more difficult. If they put enough effort to force her kidnap the world would suspect of something.

So Myosgard was killed because he prevented WG aka Imu to posses another Ancient Weapon
