The only way to become a yonko, is by having a Chunk of territories in new world and have influence with other pirates, it was said BB only become a Yonko after he annexed White Beard's remaining territories, and making his original crew as titanic captains, He didn't instantly become yonko after killing WB or beating Marco. same as Luffy he only become legit Yonko after becoming Protectorate of Wano, and gaining support from minks and samurai, even though he already have fishman under his flag,. and also with the involvement of other supernova captains, so the only way buggy can become a yonko is having the same amount of territories and support from other pirates,

that's why i have a theory he already got the backing of Elbaf by fooling he's a giant like them, also using other to cooperate with him making marines believe they are under his flag. how did he do that? by manipulating Hancock using the name of Luffy. using shanks name to gain mihawk's help, also gaining many support from pirates by using Roger name as a former member to convince other's he knew the location of Onepiece. gaining lot's of armies.

I likr your theory of Buggy pretending he's a giant but unfortunately he has a small head so other giant may think he's a giant with microcephalus or sumn :usoprice:

Buggy became Yonku because of his crew. Law said that it is very difficult to see the face of yonku due to their crews.
So level 2 impel down prisoners did better job than Beast Pirates or Big Mom pirates :myman:

100x Luffy at beginning = Luffy at Sbaody
100x Sabaody Luffy = Old Rayleigh
Old Rayleigh < other Yonko

Anyways on a serious note, it would be interesting if Weevil has joined Buggy, he is someone worthy of Yonko's strength

Unironically it's because of his crew. Just the impel down prisoners were acknowledged even by WB for their strength. Now considering he became a warlord and employed pirates for his business, it's certain he accumulated a bunch of other strong pirates under him. His strength is in the numbers, that's why the WG fears him

Not really been following OP discussions for a while so not sure if this has come up yet but I strongly believe that, Buggy becoming a Yonko is tied to Captain John's treasure. He's the only character in the verse that's really been looking for it & Oda's still yet to resolve that plot line. Last time it was brought up, he got some glasses from Luffy that could help him locate it. Given his luck he prolly just stumbled on it whilst being chased by the Marines. If John's treasure is really as immense as it is hinted to be, then makes sense that Buggy is a Yonko, as with that amount of wealth, he could recruit a shit ton of strong pirates and amass a lot of territory. At the very least, if I were in his shoes (i.e. Marines going all out to erase me) and I stumbled upon that much wealth, then first ting I'll invest in is protection. IIRC he was even trying to recruit the giants prior to the abolition of the Shichibukai so hypothetically speaking if he now has that much cash on him, it'd only make it easier to recruit strong pirates

He operates a mercenary organisation. Who's to say some of the other recently denounced Shichibukai didn't become some of his paid mercenaries, which would probably be enough power to become a Yonko depending on who in question (I can see Weevil and Mihawk as plausible - furthermore I could see people like Crocodile being involved)

I kind of expect the whole Shanks and Mihawk storyline to conclude in the Elbaf arc, I think it would be hilarious to see Buggy, Shanks and Luffy (three emperors in one place) form some kind of alliance - Buggy bringing Mihawk to Elbaf would be hilarious and having Mihawk on payroll would probably be enough muscle for Yonko status

Buggy has beef with Elbaf now after Hajrudin defected, so there's plenty of reason for him to be around in Elbaf
