Character Discussion The reason they didn't execute Ace immediately was so Whitebeard had a reason to hold back at Marineford

Sengokus own admission is that Whitebeard was holding back the entire war.

The plan was to execute Ace once Whitebeard was behind the wall. Its only by Whitebeards luck he happened to be saved by Oars.

Notice how they don't try to execute Ace when they think Whitebeard can demolish them.

Or how the next time they attempt to execute him Whitebeard acknowledges to Sengoku how weak he is?

Yes, plot is part of it. But the main reason ace wasn't executed immediately was so Whitebeard wouldn't sink marineford and neg them.

Nah. Executing him without a worldwide announced ceremony was the way to go IF they trully feared whitebeard. The way things unfolded were just a provocation to show pirates that admiral are the bosses

And then they backed down from Shanks lmao.

No. They couldn't keep a secret. They needed a 7th warlord

Just like with Whitebeard no
Awakening seems silly.

Can Kizaru make an entire island of light? He is presumably their equal. Can Monet hypothetically make an island snow forever? Does that make her abilities more advanced than Kizarus? I think the reason we don't see awakening often is because Oda doesn't know how to use it.

Will Luffy even awaken? Will things just turn to rubber and attack opponents?

It will probably just be an ability to make certain villains stronger. Doflamingo is an easy one as is Katakuri.

Still don't get the idea of Marines being afraid of Shanks when they weren't afraid of facing who they believed to be the World's Strongest Man with a power that can potentially sink them.
Yeah which is why they begged Hancock to join and even let her go to Impel Down despite the security risk.

Oh wait. That's how the prisoners got out.

The idea that the admirals weren't afraid of Shanks is nonsense btw.

Notice how just 1 year later there was a new yonko?

If they just offed Shanks and BB then they would be dealing with 2.

Its not as if you can just create a new Yonko crew out of the blue.

Why wouldn't you kill off a 2 fruit user with the most powerful ability? Or try to take his power? And let him het away

It's not silly, it's you can't stretch your mind a little as always.

Strings or light, there's no that much difference. AoE range would increase, that's how it would happen since awakening was meant to affect environment. Will see if Oda finds alternative definitions and scenarios to it.

You're talking about the author that thinks oil boils at 700 degrees. My hypothesis is likely correct. Which is why you have only seen 3 awakened DFs so far.

And that changes the Marines being willing to fight a guy who they believed was stronger than Shanks and more likely to kill them how?

Because by that time Mihawk left. They were spent. Hancock left. Moria was proved to be too weak to be a warlord. So what remained was weak enough to lose to the RHP.

Otherwise they'd just off em there and there would only be two yonko post time skip.

Seriously, there is no good reason to let the guy with 2 fruits and the most powerful fruit in the world go away.

He is quite possibly your biggest future threat.
