Your mistake is you want to give Killer his punisher blades, which he is stronger with, but keep everything else about the battle the same. It doesn't work that way. If Zoro is fighting stronger opponent then he will use stronger attacks. Killer punisher blades doesn't guarantee he can hit Zoro. If Killer was using stronger attacks and name attacks then Zoro would have been doing the same.
In the scenario that was presented to us, in the manga, Zoro and Killer were even only in CQC. Zoro was stronger in every other area. That's why Oda had Zoro respond to Killer, who had his punisher blades at the time, that the outcome would have been the same. It was Oda way of telling us that Zoro would have still defeated Killer with his punisher blades. We can see that to be true when we look at Zoro's over all strength, techniques, and sword styles.
Killer was defeated by Zoro's blackened haki Rengoku Onigiri. His punisher blades doesn't make his body more durable or increases his endurance. The attack Zoro used against Kaido was a non-blackened haki version so it was weaker than the one he used against Killer. At the most that scene shows us is a normal Rengoku Onigiri is comparable to Killer's Zanshu Claw.
It doesn't matter if Killer can beat a majority of the people on Onigashima, he still loses to Zoro who is much stronger than him.
