Powers & Abilities The secrets of black blades!

Up to this point there are only 02 top tiers in the story who wielded BB: Ryuma and Mihawk..

What are the requirements to forge a BB?
how come shanks, Roger, WB, Oden and other skilled combatants or swordsmen never had one..?!

I think the requirements for achieving BB are 03:
1)- Adv CoC (the ability to truly conquer the blade and make it obey it's master)

2)-Long time and excessive amount of haki feeding to the blade. (High level of CoA)

3)-Trauma (the wielder participates in a shocking event)
Haki is the counterpart of spiritual force and mental health..

We saw some characters lose their ability to use some types of haki when they are enraged..

So by participating in a crucial event that makes the soul more dark and heavy... The haki also becomes more dark and heavy..
To be precise the third point is about going through the trauma of killing the closest person to your heart... A friend, a family member or...a crew member.:sadgrin::sadgrin:

Nah, we know that Zoro won't kill a member of the SH crew but he will experience that by facing the ghost or the revived corpse of Kuina either by some ability like Moria's or an ability that creates illusions or shape-shifting...this will make Zoro fulfill the 3rd req.

That would be a solid explanation to why Roger, Shanks, WB and Oden never had BB.
Oden was on the verge of making Enma BB, he fulfilled the 1st,and second rule. But like the others, he is all about the nakama and family..stuff

On the other hand, Mihawk likes to travel alone and lived most of his life with no companions...what if at some point of his life got betrayed by his friends and he killed them.

About Ryuma, i think he killed a member of his family, that's pure speculation but we will find that Ryuma after protecting Wano's land from theives for years, he ended his own life by committing Seppoku out of shame and guilt.. To mirror the first scene we saw of Wano's arc

Zoro forced to commit seppoku for a crime he didn't do..

What do you think?

Isn't Haki otherwise Roger, WB and many others would have it too.

My best bet is that you have to kill a lot to make a black blade. Swords are made to kill, black blade may be satisfying swords will. In case of Enma killing Kaido may be one. In case of Wado becoming WSS is another. For Shusui maybe was slaying that dragon. For Yoru was becoming WSS too?

Yes, i don't think the key point to make BB is haki related...Oda will add more spice to this req and make it harder than killing fodder enemies...I'm pretty sure any of the top tier killed lives in their own way to reach the peak...but killing people they actually care about, i doubt it.

I can't wait for Oda to unravel what it truly takes to forge one

So you are giving Magenkyou Sharigan vibes to Black Blades?

Would be nice if we had more background/flashback from Mihawk and Ryuuma to understand how a Black Blade is created. Probably is not only killing fodders like you said otherwise Shyriu would have it for sure.

Ryuuma if we take by the one-shot we would argue that unti he slayed the dragon his black wasn't black and neither after it.

Mihawk we know to being challenging a lot of swordsmen including Shanks.

Still no clue about Black Blades.

The secret is just one: Zoro's time require to surpass his limits once again
Remember that Roger had the ability to hear the Voice of all things... He was a swordsman and Hakiman. But no BB.
So, i'm eliminating the possibility of some type of Zangetsu-Ichigo reunion thing to happen..
:zorothink:
Oda will milk the Kuina plot-line.

It is a theory, but to me doesnt explain what chapter 1033 is saying.
Each blade as their own spirit&will - each blade chose the owner.

I heard an interesting podcast that is saying that to blacken the blade, first the owner had to posses the right qualities (which you mention, hacky, force, strength, ambition, drive) but that only the first part which is what Zoro did in chapter 1033, Zoro release his hacky (fully) that is what Enma was demanding.

The second stage is something much more spiritual (that why you see many times swordsman just meditating with the blade Zoro is doing that in some istance). If you want to tap in the true potential of the blade, you need to know what the will behind that blade.

If Zoro can undestand what Enma will is, then Enma will evolve into a blacken blade.
My theory based on what the flashback with Kazuburo is that blade every blade aim to take a life, and Enma that is the master piece of Kazuburo (call the king of hell) aim to the biggest target there is. Enma is lucky because Wano is ruled by the strongest creature in One Piece.

Well that is my theory :yearight:

Yes! I understand, but the whole spirit within the sword stuff doesn't explain to me why Roger (luffy 2.0 with meito) was unable to forge a BB although he had the power and the the potential to do it...
:quest:
If Zoro needs to kill Kaido to make Enma BB, what did Mihawk Kill to make Yuro BB..?!
Jesus, probably... That why he wears a cross..
