The shadow dragons as a idea are really overrated

First off, The whole idea of the dragon balls getting collected else earth gets destroyed by the energy of the wish was done with the ultimate shenron in the first arc.

Also the whole but it's cool cause their evil versions of shenlong which a is not technically true but even assuming so wouldt that just be really unoriginal considering every other major villain are evil versions of another character in some sense eg baby vegeta and super 17

not only that but their pretty bland all having no unique traits or personality say for nova shenron and even then, he's not even a bad guy in this arc.

That arc was probably my least favourite in GT
I didt like it much ether, There's just not much going on and it pretty much just being a repeat of the first arc
I feel like the super 17 arc was really underused, It just came off as a plot device to create the scenario to start up the following arc not anything unique or actually engaging proof of this would be that we see android 17 resist gero's control of him for a bit but that never gets followed up on in the story, There's a whole segment hyping up that past villains are coming back from hell but like the 17 bit mentioned before it gets no follow up despite it's setup had.

If it was a proper arc instead of just a fancy piece of setup disguised as a arc then it would followed up on those details had

I think that the idea is original but the execution was definitely poor.

It was a good way to show that an overuse of the dragon balls could lead to a very dire situation, but like I said before the execution didn't live up to the potential

The idea = the dragon ball wishes have consequences and spawns creatures to fight the dragon team.

I think that’s actually cool and a good way to end a series, the execution was what was poor about it

Not sure what to make of the shadow dragons, but I definitely like the idea of the dragon balls having a consequence of being abused so much.

Would have been a good way to conclude a series literally named after the Dragon Balls, have them face the consequwnce of abusing them so much in the story, but GT did that idea poorly sure, but I like the concept of having a consequence.

The whole first arc did that with. The ultimate shenron destroying whatever planet that the wish was made upon.
Not much different infact, it's even said in both cases. Energy from the balls cause the planet destruction

I very much disagree with the evil version of shenron being a unique idea. This is the same series with evil enhanced android 17 and vegeta right?? The entire series had evil versions of things to one sense or another
Dragon balls have consequences was done in the first arc of the show with the ultimate shenron
