I'm a solid Sanji fan but Zoro is undoubtedly the VC right from the start. My boy is a cook, Jimbei is the helmsman, if Yamato joins then she'll transcribe the journey just like how Oden did it.
Amongst all the SHs, Zoro is the only one who has no other purpose than fight and sleep. And that entitlement is only just for a VC.

I kinda disagree with that.
Zoro is the only one in the crew who openly challenges Luffy's decisions and tells him what he should and shouldn't do. Like when Luffy was gonna let Ussop come back to the crew without apologizing in the Water Seven/Enies Lobby Arc.
Zoro is the only other Straw Hat who is a Superonava alongside Luffy, and in the Saboady Arc, other Supernovas even commented how Zoro was more fearsome and prominent than even his captain.
Zoro is the only one who freely criticizes Luffy whenever he chooses to if he sees Luffy not in the right mind or not living up to Zoro's standard of what he expects from his own captain.
Zoro IS the Vice Captain, the thing about Zoro that is different from most other vice captains is that he only challenges the captain or make decisions on the captain's behalf if he really NEEDS to. If the situation doesn't call for it, he'll go along with whatever decision Luffy decides for the rest of the crew.
He's the more laid back and reserved kind of vice captain, not the controlling and tyrannical type.

What are you talking about? Was Jango as strong as Kuro? Is Mohji as strong as Buggy even though the one he fought to a draw was Cabaji? Is Boo as strong as Sai even though the character who defeated the former was obliterated by the latter? Was Aladine as strong as Jinbe even though the only direct comparison we ever had was between Jinbe and Tiger?
