The Kid pirates were destroyed. The ship sank and Kid and Killer’s status is unknown. While it’s possible for Kid to survive, the fact it was stated that he and his crew were destroyed, means the best possible case for him is a Moria/Crocodile situation where he either lost his crew, lost a limb, or possibly both. Or he could just be dead idk.
Kid’s loss was severe and brutal.
Law on the other hand had a significant better loss.
While his ship was destroyed, Bepo was able to ultimately save him. While Law was injured, he was at the very least shown to be alive and conscious by the end of the fight. And Bepo’s dialogue suggests that none of the heart pirates will die either. Hence while the Kid pirates were destroyed, the heart pirates were simply defeated.
The last situation we have to deal with is Luffy’s. Kid’s loss was brutal. Law still lost, but it wasn’t that bad. With this pattern, it is very clear to me that Luffy will take an L in Egghead.
However just as Law did better than Kid, Luffy will obviously do better than Law. Yet it will ultimately still be a loss.
The reason for this is evident. There is no possible way Luffy could win this arc without it severely undermining the gorosei and hence ruining the villains of the final war. At the moment Luffy has been unable to do lasting damage to a single gorosei. He is running alongside the giants and trying to escape Egghead.
I think Luffy should lose this arc. It would hype the gorosei as the final villains while giving the arc real tension. The villains got 5 Gorosei, Kizaru, and the seraphim on their side. Luffy should get cooked.
I think Luffy will go all out fighting all the Gorosei so that the SHs can escape, and as a result, he will be KO’d by the arc’s end. But unlike the other situations, the SHs will escape with their ship, crew, and poneglyphs intact.
Hence I think the narration box for Egghead will say something like “While SH Luffy was defeated in battle by the Gorosei….the SH pirates escaped”
