General & Others The traitor subplot is boring and unnecessary

#24
Too much seems to be going right for the Strawhats, and that’s probably why Oda included this subplot.

It’s pretty repetitive though, especially if it’s one of the Vegapunks since we just had a suicidal traitor plot with Kanjuro.
If it’s Caribou messing around then that’s also odd since there’s not much benefit to it and he’s just be throwing himself at the WG’s mercy.
Honestly, it being Shiryu is the most interesting thing that could be done here, but inside knowledge seems to be necessary to pull it off.

Would be a little weird if the WG left Vegapunk alone, unchecked...

Seriously though, it would be great if there wasn't an actual "traitor" but rather Punk Records has become self aware, and is now trying to eliminate the only thing that threatens its existence, and keeps it from being 100 percent self reliant, which would be the Vegapunk's. Or if it was trying to absorb all the Vegapunk's consciousness' and become the one true "brain" so to speak. Maybe that's where the Stella disappeared to. To Punk Records. Doubt that's a route Oda would go though.

As for it being a "boring" subplot, I don't know if that's what one should call it, as right now it's barely even a subplot. Just a strong speculation. It's taken up nothing but a panel or two at the moment. Not like there is really much to go on in terms of development and panel space. How can something that's barely a blip on the radar, be boring?

The reason I don't like this subplot is because I feel like its just a waste of time. Luffy is the MC, Kizaru is the villain. Why can't we just go straight to Luffy vs Kizaru? Why does Luffy need to just chill in a couch with Zoro and do nothing?

It feels like Oda needlessly makes his arcs far longer than they truly need to be.

This is just like when Luffy was running around in the castle while the scabbards were dying on the rooftop.

Yeah it's pretty annoying. Oda loves his that person shit. At least Stussy has been revealed/dealt with but I'm guessing to balance things, someone on the good side is also a double agent. Most of my money is on Shaka; mans the controls during the shield drop, contacts Dragon telling him he's dying soon before meeting the SH's, and his moniker of "Good" may mean not being on the side of Pirates.

I'd be pretty annoyed if it was a random character that hasn't been seen yet, or even Caribou getting away from the ship while everyone was distracted. Though I don't think that'd make much sense either; Zoro and Brook were still on the ship when the shield went down.

Also, how the fuck Stella went missing is beyond me.

I feel like he is now going to use mystery plot in one piece to keep it interesting...but thing is they are not mystery plot...they are just unknown information..hiding something is not mystery and adding traitor and stuff is of no use when there is no proper repercussions...I mean even Kanjuro being traitor did jack shit to the plot. A traitor plot works if its something long term with actual effects...like Chopper being the traitor maybe.

The entire Country of Zou was laid to ruins, countless Minks died, and Duke and Inurasha were crippled due to Kanjuros betrayal.

It would have happened anyway if BPs wanted. Regardless, also they never explained how it happened at all. And the blame was entirely put on Jack instead of it being the work of a traitor among them. The whole thing doesn't make much sense as I don't see why Jac/Kaido were interested in Raizo at all(we could say Orochi ordered Jack to do that maybe though I don't see why Jack would listen to him directly)...when Kanjuro was with momo who is the main target. Should have told them to come to PH/Dressrosa. As a traitor plot it was dogshit.

Moreover, his impact would have been far more crucial in Wano itself but nothing much happened there too.
