Sanji's flame abilities are some of the most mysterious abilities we have seen yet. They are clearly supernatural in origin, as they are fueled by his anger, however we are yet to receive an explanation of what this is.

In WCI, I thought that these abilities were likely due to a dormant mutation. However given that nobody acknowledged this to be the case, as well as sanji's mutation being flames simply doesn't fit "stealth black", I think this might not be the answer.

Going into WCI, Sanji could do everything his siblings could do with his own strength, albeit to a lesser extent. He could harden his body with haki, fly with geppo, he had natural superhuman strength and speed. So by this logic, it would make sense if his flames weren't related to science, they are sanji's unique ability.

So what could be their origin? One possibility is that sanji's flames and king's flames are essentially the same thing. Given how king's race is very mysterious, with king being the only known member, I think its possible that king's flames are due to his race, with it being a similar ability to the mink's electro. And that sanji can use this power because he is part of the same race.

The original vinsmokes were of king's race. As time passed, they interbred more and more with humans until they looked almost identical to humans. However, sanji carries on the legacy of the original vinsmokes by holding their flame abilities. Sanji's hybrid heritage is also why he was able to pick up geppo, he has a natural proclivity for flight.

Also, both of sanji's parents seem to reference the sky. Judge's epithet, "Garuda", is a mythical bird god in hinduism, whereas Sora's name is the japanese world for sky. Could this be due to the heritage of the vinsmoke family? Foreshadowing perhaps?

Also, could the technological advancements of the vinsmokes also be linked to king's race? Perhaps king's race as a whole were highly advanced. We know from enel's cover story that the sky islanders, who have wings just like king, descended from the moon. And on the moon, they seemed to be highly advanced, building automata. Perhaps King's race is also from the moon and that this is why germa is so advanced.

There are actually multiple instances where oda has juxtaposed sanji with things that are space related. Like a cover story of sanji and a goat looking through a telescope to the sky. Oda drew sanji as a ufo caricature and called him a space alien. Sanji’s move that he used in the anime against page one was the shooting star kick. So the vinsmokes being oringinally from space wouldn’t be too far fetched. We already know the people from sky island decent from the moon.

Def the picture showing WINGS... Those are literally WINGS on his back.

Magellon doesnt wear a white naval ( i dont know the exact wording, but all admirals, and even WB wore it) Coat/Garb etc.

@BangMi I am trying to prove King and Shiryu are part of the same race and still NO Vinsmokes and King are not from same race

ah yes i dont think king and shiryu isn't the same race, so does sanji/vinsmoke and king.
so far, king's wings is similar to tengu hitetsu.
