I think he was in some sort of additional battle since then. He had to be.

It was already established that basically everyone had healed from the wano war. We even got that scene where Shanks asked about Kidd and he was told that he was fine.

None of the scabbards seem to still be wounded. And obviously the SHs are healed. Including Zoro, who’s injuries were much worse than Drake’s.

Imo there’s something here we don’t know about. Why was Drake missing for so long? Why isn’t he talking to anybody? We saw Smoker this chapter, with him asking where Tashigi was. Imo Smoker will be the one who talks to Drake, and its through him that we will learn what Drake has been through.

Imo he either got injured fighting the beast/BMP remnants, or it was something to do with CP-0. But whatever it was, it definitely happened after the main war in wano.

Check chapter 1052. We see Drake after the war (Idk if this is right after or it's the week after when Aramaki invaded Wano and Shanks wifi diffed him) and he seems to be somewhat healed at least.

Oda just has a habit of putting characters in bandages when they aren't really damaged or hurt anymore. Like Sengoku after Marineford.
