Speculations There's too much rape in One Piece

#41
The writer wants you to think the Celestial Dragons rape a lot. It's a plot device he likes to use, now.

It's uncomfortable that it's expected to happen regularly. Garling hiding a kid was one thing, but now that the author has suggested they go through convoluted plots to do it beyond what was assumed with the slavery stuff is a bit crazy.

Before Ginny, there was only assumptions about rape and a single instance of it doesn't constitute a pattern.

Garling didn't rape, but he killed the woman and tried to take the kids. A similar thing happens to Candel in Shuri's case, but Candel was raped.

The writer has told us to "read between the lines" as adult readers. This means we should be assuming Doflamingo raped Viola too now that a pattern has developed. The same goes for Nefertari Lili and Imu.

That's 4 cases of it. Viola, Ginny, Candel, and Lili.

At this point, it could be said that the Devil Fruits and Haki are flimsy pretexts for sexual violence.

definitely not
there's a reason berserk is one of the most popular examples of a story that got outrage for having too much rape/gore in it
some of it did serve a narrative purpose but a lot of it felt like miura just liked to draw characters nearly getting violated for the shock value of it
Also, at least OP is off-screen, where Berserk...wasn't.
