Speculations This guy has to be Scopper Gaban?!

Is the mystery visitor Scopper Gaban?

Yeah the last we see of Yorki he's seriously ill but alive, sailing off into the Calm Belt. With Brook saying they'll meet again and that only the sea will know if he's alive or not

In a flashback where literally everyone else blatantly dies onscreen it's very suspicious.
This really reminds me of Sabo’s “death” but even then its even more out in the open here. Also Laboon is added in the panel with the mysterious dude, so it makes sense for it to be Yorki. Also just came upon this theory by @WillOfMyD

So we got the reveal that Scopper was one of the more prominent members of the crew and on the cover page for Chapter 631, Crocus was meeting a mystery figure. Crocus had previously met Rayleigh in Chapter 591 so it most likely has to be someone who he knows really well or more likely a fellow Roger Pirate.

Also, the hair shape appears to be exactly the same as Scopper's, however, there is one contradiction, namely, the color of his hair. Scopper in The Strong World movie was presented with black hair and the figure in Chapter 631 has blonde hair, so many people automatically discounted Scopper as being the one who was meeting Crocus.

However, I would like to posit that maybe the color scheme for either Scopper or that figure was wrong, as it has happened before. Many times the anime and manga get coloring wrong, i.e Giola's color scheme and Enel's lighting to name a few. You might also think that because Scopper's hair is shaded black that it is most likely going to be a dark color, but then again Queen who was shown to have dark shaded hair was revealed to be a blonde.

I think it is extremely likely that the figure is Scopper Gaban and because of his attire, which is very Wano-esque, we might see him at the end of the arc. Maybe he will impart some wisdom about finding Raftel as he has some navigation knowledge or he could reveal to Luffy the happenings in the world and what effect that would have on him.

People have posited that it could be Shiki, but Shiki's hair is much longer and he would not be able to wear that Amigasa because of the ship's wheel embedded in his head.

Edit: After @Garp the Fist commented with Yorki being the likely candidate, it seems to be a much better guess than Scopper. I still think it will either be confirmed or denied when Scopper is either animated in the anime or the digitally coloured chapters catch up if Scopper is blonde. If he is black-haired, then I think it is going to be much more likely that he is either Yorki or someone else.
IT IS SCOPPER

regarding the color. It's also right. WHY?

Because Scopper is now an OLD GEEZER
Meaning, his hair now should be WHITE NOT BLACK

So, in normal manga panels of "black and white" having a white coloring and black lines at the edges is the right way to color it.

And I do not believe the coloring in the picture where it appears blonde is official from Oda. It's colored by other people. However, I believe it's not blonde, but simply a white hair, representing an OLD MAN

The only reason I *don’t* think it’s Yorki is that it’s been more than 50 years since Brook’s backstory...how would a man who is at least in his 80s still have long, flowing blonde hair?? Brook’s Afro has only held this well because he has “strong roots” and he died for the first time in his 30s, Sengoku (who’s in his 70s) went gray during the time skip, and Garp/Tsuru/Whitebeard/others of an advanced age all look like somewhat elderly people. Yorki, if he is still alive, would rationally have gray/white hair and presumably less of it than whoever that is.

Shiki’s still my guess here, because it damn sure isn’t Gaban.

Find me another character in this story that’s older than 60-something and still has their natural hair color. Everyone I can think of (and mentioned above) has gone gray either in the course of the current timeline or prior to it, other than Shiki/possibly Big Mom.

Ray's 78 and he's got longer hair now than he ever had in his youth.

I don't take the colouring of it too seriously, we just know in the manga Oda didn't colour his hair in. Could be blonde, could be white, could be green for all we know.

Zeff's 67 and still blonde. And Hyogoro's still got blue hair, just a hell of a lot less than before, and he seems fairly old. Neptune's 70 and is basically made of ginger hair

Ray’s hair also went from blonde to gray/white, though...I know you’re saying not to ascribe any meaning to the coloring scheme, but every argument made in this thread is contingent on that very point. Elderly people, even in this story, typically don’t keep their natural hair color.

If that's Scopper he sure changed over the years. I wouldn't mind Yorki, but I'm kind of doubtful since that would mean he fulfilled Rumbar Pirates' promise to Laboon before Brook got there. Whoever it is, Crocus clearly knows him.

He wouldn’t have. The Rumbar Pirates promise was to go all around the Grand Line and come back- meaning going to Laugh Tale. That’s why Brook is on Luffy’s crew. The promise isn’t to just make it back to Laboon, Brook could have done that after Thriller Bark if that was the case.

That's true, but it feels a bit weird if members of the Rumbar pirates survived after how tragically framed Brook story was. However, I'm fine with either scenario since Yorki being alive would really be wonderful for Brook in the end.

Actually now that I think about it Yorki is a very good candidate to be the guy there.
I think Yorki being alive would weaken Brook's pain of seeing all of his friends dying though. The yellow hair and friendly additude towards Crocus seem to imply it, but I hope it isn't, Brook's flashback is the saddest (and maybe the best) in the series, and IMO Yorki being alive would weaken it a little bit. Maybe I'm just a saddist?

Why though? Yorki being alive doesn't somehow retrospectively change what Brook experienced at the time. Brooks flashback doesn't gain or lose any significance. The effect his past has had on him doesn't change either. That's literally impossible.

But tell me: who else is friends with Crocus, Laboon, is also very old and has/had blonde hair? Furthermore, that cover story only featured characters we had already seen in the story before.
