So him being the world's strongest creature and knowing pretty much everything about awakening, never had it in all the time he's been a pirate, but only suddenly gets it after Luffy defeats him? Yeah that doesn't seem to make much sense to me but ok ig

because he has never been this close to death before. Him being the strongest creature doesnt mean anything in terms of awakening, awakening is not dependent on powerscaling, weaker character have it while stronger ones dont, and him knowing about awakening doesnt mean he can do it himself, this reminds me of people saying king would use conquerors just because he recognised it when zoro used it

Momonosuke has the voice of all things. He can speak to Zunesha, who is quite far away at this moment. Kaido is closer, so he would easily be able to sense Kaido. If he said that the eruption was curtains for Kaido, that can only mean 2 things. It killed Kaido, or Kaido got blasted far FAR away from Wano. If you still think he's going to awaken or get up to fight again, explain how Momo's VOAT is wrong.

He said that it was a "send off" after the explosion. That is not a definitive "Kaido is dead" to me. I think it sent Kaido flying off to somewhere that will be important later.

I agree that it's not definitve, which is why I also specified that it is possible that Kaido got launched extremely far away from Wano. If he has that ability and specifically said the explosion is what did it it wouldn't make sense that he'd still just be floating in the magma right now. However he did use the word final as well, which does make me lean more to the dead side.

There is noway, that he has so much knowledge, about a concept that he may have not witnessed with his own eyes or that he hasn’t used it.

im sure in his 30 year plus pirate career he has seen people use awakenings
as i said, hes never been this close to death, which is why he has never awakened, i think its different for mythical zoans
luffy is literally the only mythical zoan that we have seen awaken, and it just happened as he was about to die, he didnt know how to use it beforehand
kaido is now in a similar situation that luffy was in right before he awakened

TCB is not the best for true translations. It does say "final" but does that mean death or "at last"? I am on the side that is not counting Kaido as:

The thing with Luffy is probably the exception instead of normality.

We all knew Luffy would have G5 and awakening some point, but we never connected the dots that his awakening is his Gear 5.

Kaido is in a worse situation. He literally isn‘t even on the battlefield and he looks like he is disintegrating.

At first I was thinking that both of the two were disintegrating. But, going back to how lava flows, I think it was just flowing over Kaido and BM. I could see it go either way.

Me too. I am literally coping for Kaido awakening, but I am just realistic with what Oda has done to his story...

Even if Momo's statement is somehow wrong, the strongest CoO user in Wano right now will confirmed it for us next chapter or so (aka Sanji). If Sanji manages to sense Luffy while he was sleeping then there's no reason why he couldn't sense Kaido's condition.

I feel Kaido is in worse conditions compared to that Luffy but I don't think he dead.

I bet that if Katakuri was here Big Mom would not have stood in such situation already probably. Same if King was healthier for Kaido.
