This whole Funimation ordeal is a grim reminder to always buy physical media

Steam could do the same thing yk? It's insane to think how they're selling you a product you don't even own.
With steam is even worse tbh. The hours someone dedicates to games isn't even coming close to movies and series. More expensive in general as well. Pretty fucked up situation. The only positive is that steam doesn't have real competitors so it is safe for now.

Yep. All major media platforms pull this mess. And with Nintendo constantly shutting down online support for their past systems, it's gonna get messy lmao.
Fuck. Hopefully backward compatibility is a thing with their next system. If it isn't, well, I wouldn't be that surprised.

Well legally speaking no because you don't own digital media, it's more like "you bought the right to consume this media" I think Ubisoft recently tried to warn consumers of this very thing.
They want to do it via a subscription service, which is insane when you think about it since their games are trash anyway.

The Switch and Switch 2 have absolutely no reason to not be backwards compatible, they got it right with the DS being able to play GBA games and the 3DS playing DS just fine. Heads will roll if they can't get this right lmao.

This is why I never spend money on kindle, audiobooks, streaming or any online shenanigans if I can avoid it. If I can't physically hold it then I ain't buying it you corporate troglodytes. :kriwhat:
I always use credits for audible but mostly listen to podcast since they are free and have stories that are performed not just read
