This whole Funimation ordeal is a grim reminder to always buy physical media

I highly encourage people to support Physical media, don't let it die.
I'd love to, but I move around a lot (and I mean a lot, for the past 2 years I lived in 3 countries and 5 different cities).
Subscription is the worst imo, but we got trapped for the convenience we try to achieve? Although I hate the ads, the fact that if I want SW, I need Disney+, if I want Witcher, I need Netflix, if I want whatever's a big hit on HBO, I need HBO, so yeah, sometimes I end up a pirate.

I don't own a single streaming/subscription service outside of Amazon Prime Video, and that's only because of a discount deal I got for purchasing Amazon Prime as a university student 7 yrs ago lol

fuck everything else

Steam could do the same thing yk? It's insane to think how they're selling you a product you don't even own.
Steam at the very least I've been able to download games that I bought 10 yrs ago so that is kinda nice and hopefully it lasts

I don't own BluRay (never have) but I have like 1.8TB worth of anime/movies/music downloaded over the last 12 yrs if that counts for anything lol

when it comes to Nintendo I own a physical copy of every pokemon game I've played except Arceus but will buy a physical copy when it gets discounted

That still doesn’t justify how they still have the power to rob you whenever they want.
Sorry, perhaps we weren’t on the same page. I wasn’t trying to justify it.

It seems pretty difficult to get banned from Steam, especially if you only use it as a game library, so I don’t see a need to worry about it too much. I don’t think they should prevent you from playing singleplayer games though, that seems unnecessary.

Physical would be ideal for a lot of games, but I’ve come across some that were more expensive that way. Achievements are a nice bonus too and graphics quality may vary, so depending on the game Steam might be the better option.

I would probably cry if Steam followed Funimation’s footsteps.

If they don't got till April to figure out how to download your content straight to your computer
If shit hits the fan literally film it off your screen. Better than having nothing
I get that, also you need space as well so it is understandable but a couple of films here and there can make a small difference and show that it is still relevant.
No need for space, just buy disc, rip it with software (that's legal as long as you don't distribute the file), save your whole collection to external hard drive

Just buy a firestick and jail break it
I once filmed part of a movie from the screen because as I was in the process of ripping the DVD it slowly died but luckily I still had a bluray of the same movie
