I'd love to, but I move around a lot (and I mean a lot, for the past 2 years I lived in 3 countries and 5 different cities).
Subscription is the worst imo, but we got trapped for the convenience we try to achieve? Although I hate the ads, the fact that if I want SW, I need Disney+, if I want Witcher, I need Netflix, if I want whatever's a big hit on HBO, I need HBO, so yeah, sometimes I end up a pirate.
I don't own a single streaming/subscription service outside of Amazon Prime Video, and that's only because of a discount deal I got for purchasing Amazon Prime as a university student 7 yrs ago lol
Sorry, perhaps we weren’t on the same page. I wasn’t trying to justify it.
It seems pretty difficult to get banned from Steam, especially if you only use it as a game library, so I don’t see a need to worry about it too much. I don’t think they should prevent you from playing singleplayer games though, that seems unnecessary.
Physical would be ideal for a lot of games, but I’ve come across some that were more expensive that way. Achievements are a nice bonus too and graphics quality may vary, so depending on the game Steam might be the better option.
I would probably cry if Steam followed Funimation’s footsteps.
I get that, also you need space as well so it is understandable but a couple of films here and there can make a small difference and show that it is still relevant.
No need for space, just buy disc, rip it with software (that's legal as long as you don't distribute the file), save your whole collection to external hard drive
I once filmed part of a movie from the screen because as I was in the process of ripping the DVD it slowly died but luckily I still had a bluray of the same movie

Welcome to the Rent Everything Or Get Bent future. I've heard something about trying to make all housing subscription based in America or something too.
