My height is 1.75, or at meast thats what I thought until I checked and it was 1.74 woth shoes lol.

I do remember I was 1.75, I think sometimes the thing you use to measure, are not well calibrated with all the others, just as a flex.

For the date I wore some height boosting insoles that made my walk around height a little bit over 6 foot and was worried that if I was in a situation where I had to take off my shoes I would get fraud checked.

I am 5'10.5" (179 cm). Last week I went on a date with a girl I matched with on hinge. I lied in my profile that I was 6' (183 cm). For the date I wore some height boosting insoles that made my walk around height a little bit over 6 foot and was worried that if I was in a situation where I had to take off my shoes I would get fraud checked.

Fortunately, when I actually did take off the shoes, she could not tell (or at the very least didn't say anything - she was like 5'3).

The difference between 70.5 and 72 is 1.5 inches or about a 2% height difference. I firmly believe that unless the person you're talking to is close to your height, they literally will not be able to tell if you're an inch or two taller than you say.

What's more, putting aside my own anecdotal experience, and you look at the data on this, basically every guy between 5'8 (172 cm) and 6' (183 cm) is already lying about their height.

It's really bad at 5'11 (180 cm), at that height there are so many guys lying that it actually appears that there are more 6 foot men than 5'10 and 5'11 men in the data.


My takeaway from this is that any guy should probably add about 1 or 2 inches to their heights, especially on online dating platforms.

If she likes you for genuine then good but better be upfront immediately that you lied she will find out soon enough you are not 6 then she will be disappointed and have trust issues that you are hiding things from her .

I think there was a study where they looked at the data on women’s height filters in online and you get around 3x more exposure at 6 foot vs 5’11 just because of the filters. Since meeting an ideal person is somewhat a numbers game I don’t see how any guy who isn’t 5’10+ benefits from saying he’s under 6 foot
